DeviceNet trunk bus cables incorporate both a data pair (Pair A) and a larger power pair (Pair B). The trunk (thick) cable has larger conductors than the drop (thin) cable and is used for backbone wiring. They have stranded tinned copper conductors (Pair A = 18AWG, Pair B = 15AWG), polyethylene (PE) core insulation, each pair individually aluminium foil screened, common 18AWG tinned copper drain wire, overall tinned copper braid screen and a violet sheath (material varies) as standard. Armoured versions with black sheathing are available.
