CW1128-1198 jelly filled and armoured telephone cables are suitable for installation outdoors, running through ducting and for direct burial. They have 0.5mm or 0.9mm diameter solid plain copper cores twisted into pairs, PE (polyethylene) insulation, petroleum jelly filling, PE bedding, galvanised SWA (steel wire armour) and a black PE or external grade PVC (polyvinylchloride) sheath as standard. The outer sheath is UV and sunlight resistant, the petroleum jelly provides protection against water ingress and the steel wire armour provides protection against mechanical damage.
